THE HISTORY OF TENBY LIFEBOAT
R.N.L.B WILLIAM AND MARY DEVEY
In November 1901 it was decided to place a new larger lifeboat at Tenby. She was a 38 foot by 9 foot 4 inches, 12 oared, non-self_righting Watson class boat, designed for sailing greater distances than the smaller, self-righting boats. She arrived on station early in November 1902 and was named the 'William and Mary Devey,' after the parents of the donor, Miss Eleanor Devey, of Tunbridge Wells. This boat cost £984 to build and the boathouse had to be altered to accommodate the new boat at a cost of £289
